Characters
There was nothing unusual amongst our trio, but if I get to choose who stole the spotlight from them, it's the president of the Robot Club.
His passion for piloting a mecha as a robot enthusiast was so intense, even our main characters were moved by it.
Well, except for Kanamori.
To quote our financial manager: "
I have huge problems with people who solve problems with emotional appeals."
And this is just a tiny rant, but I hope they show more characters related to our protagonists. So far they have only shown us a glimpse of Asakusa's mother and brother, and for the other two... none so far.
Writing / Storyboarding
I really liked the storyboard in the beginning, when Midori stumbled and her head was stuck in a wood, then was dragged by Tsubame. Followed by the slow motion of the two trying to get away, but Midori tripped on the chord, and the plug hit Mizusaki's forehead. Lastly, Asakusa accidentally being hit by bottled water on her head. That was ridiculously funny.
And I think so far this episode had the most number of trivia, from the origin of robots, animals like Asian bombardier beetle and pistol shrimps, up to the phenomenon called sonoluminescence. I did research all of them, and everything was a fact. Kudos to the writers for yet another educational episode.
Artwork / Animation
The Crabtle monster was in a way unique, and interesting, and for the upgrade they did on the robot, I'd say they did what they could do to satisfy both parties. (Meaning for me it wasn't great, but it's not bad either.)
Music / Sound
There was no standout from the music that was used in this episode, but the sound effects were again on point.
PS: Here's the trailer for the mentioned animated classic film,
The King and The Mockingbird:
