「 A quote from this episode 」
"I wonder if I even need to save her anymore..."
「 The Review 」SynopsisNikaido has learned about the reason why En was looking for a sorcerer who can control time.
StoryI thought this was the funniest episode ever, and it was really well done.
I was expecting there will be some intense fight scenes when Caiman rescues Nikaido, but it all went smoothly, he just grabbed her hand and run away.
And was I disappointed? Definitely not!
As a viewer/critic, I loved it when the show didn't give me what I was expecting. As long as I felt good about what they had presented, it's fine.
CharactersWe have two characters from the past: Tenjin and Asuka. The former has already died in the hands of the mysterious cross-eye sorcerer. And Asuka, a former staff of Tanba, wears a mask of a bat.
If you don't already know, that animal was famous for having tons of viruses. And Asuka's power can be called a 'love virus.'
Going back from the past, it's surprising to see that even Shin and Noi can't hold a candle to the cross-eye guy. I mean, with their powers combined, I thought they were undefeatable.
Writing / Storyboarding
I was really surprised that this episode had more comedy writing than action or drama, but I'm not complaining. I laughed so hard, and the ending obviously gave a sign that we'll have something intense for the finale.
Artwork / AnimationEn's castle looked so fantastic, but enough about it, what caught my interest was the time-lapse scene! I replayed that part about five times. The sudden change in the angle at the end was ingenious.
And I found this inverted cross on top of some building, where Nikaido's friend was sitting, to be quite symbolic.
Lastly, this monster called Angel has a really cool/weird concept:
Music / SoundThe jazz music when En rescued Shin and Noi on his biopic film, sounded really amazing.
PS: You can see the word MAPPA on the image below, and as you know, it's the animation studio that produced Dorohedoro.
