SynopsisDive into the world of Kumasa, Motoi, and Eripiyo, as they show you what it's like to be a wota.
StoryThis was the first Idol anime I have ever finished, and I'm proud to say it went beyond my expectation. The pilot episode went off to a great start, and the finale didn't disappoint.
As the series progressed, you will be drawn into the minds of our wotas (hardcore fan of a Japanese idol), and you will see how dedicated they can be.
Some viewers may think that this wasn't a good example because it showed how someone can be easily broke because of undying support to an idol.
But for me, I'd say it's still up to you how you spend your money. And I believe that if you really have an urge to buy something that will make you feel good, it's better to buy a merch from your favorite artist, rather than use it to buy drugs, cigarettes, or anything that will cause harm.
CharactersIf you're an avid fan of some indie artists, you will definitely relate with the characters here. From supporting them in their early stages, up to seeing them achieve their dream of becoming popular.
You can be Kumasa who leads a fan club for the top member of the group, Motoi whose affection goes beyond being just a fan, and lastly Eripiyo, who supports someone from the back row, and will do anything, and I mean, everything, for her idol to be the main star.
Or you can just be like Rena who's a casual fan:
I won't go into details about the members of ChamJam, but I just like the fact that they wrote two characters (Maki and Yumeri) who were in a same-sex relationship.
We're already in 2020, so yeah, the inclusion of LGBTQ+ character/s, was for me a plus. I just hope that in the future, if there would be another season, they will be open about it.
Writing / StoryboardingAlmost every episode here was jampacked with comedic scenes paired with Maina's funny dialogues, mostly about her hailing how amazing Maina was, so expect you won't get bored.
One thing you might lose patience with was how Maina was taking ages to thank Eripiyo from the bottom of her heart. But the writers had to save it up to the last, so we can have some defining moment.
Artwork / Animation The background art was one of the noticeable things in this show. There's nothing much that goes along with it, but it doesn't feel lifeless. The gradients looked great and the color scheme was on point. Pretty much reminds me of the art from classic anime like Sailor Moon, except it's more detailed.
