Synopsis
Blue Night event has started, and Shin & Noi has been targeted by their past foes.
Story
While the history of Shin and Noi's partnership were awesome and quite funny (I mean, En's singing really raised the bar), I would rather jump to the last part 'cause I just can't fathom how Nikaido let Caiman be all alone for a week.
In my last review, I thought the next episode will feature Nikaido going to the world of sorcerers, but to my surprise, she's still in Hole celebrating the birthday of one of the doctors. Seriously, if you have someone close to you, who went to a dangerous place, shouldn't you follow as soon as possible? Nikaido said she had thought of it, but she realized it will be better if she went with a group of people. Sure, that's a great idea, but, I think they could have formed one under 48 hours (not wait for seven days!).
All I know was, if someone didn't return in a week, that should already be considered alarming. Just think about it, what could Caiman do against the family of En if ever they accidentally crossed paths? It's also possible someone working under En might see him and report him, and... you get the idea.
Characters
Let's take a look at the teenage years of Noi and Shin...
So here's Noi doing an Alphonse (
Fullmetal Alchemist) cosplay...
Kidding aside, it's surprising how Shin had a faster growth spurt, but when they reached adulthood, it was Noi who became more massive in size.
Also, congrats to Fujita for finally having a partner again.

Writing / Storyboarding
It was obvious I was disappointed by how Nikaido didn't follow Caiman as soon as possible, but, let's try to see some positive side in this episode.
First, I was surprised that a sorcerer can turn into a demon.
Second, I didn't expect En's "mushroom magic" to have other use. I mean, look at him here, doing some Professor X (
X-Men) mental ability:
And lastly, well this wasn't something I liked, but how in the world does Caiman's sorcerer allies didn't manage to ask him what his magic was? Because for sure they should have thought of him as a mage, right?
Artwork / Animation
For the setting, there wasn't anything particularly new except for En's ramen shop. And for the character design, I thought En's mushroom face was creepy AF.
The best animation goes to the battle scene in the market. The variety of techniques that were shown in a small amount of time was fascinating and thrilling.
Also, look at the first image and try to find Kikurage's painting (I found it to be really cute).
Music / Sound
Sound effects in the fighting scenes featuring Baku and Yaku was the highlight for this category. And for En's theme song... let's just not talk about it.
