Synopsis
Various clubs have collaborated with the Film club to produce their mecha anime.
Story
At this point, I think it's pretty obvious that the remaining episodes would be like a 'How to Make a (Mecha) Anime' guide. Though I'm not sure if the finale will be them showing their finished film. If that's the case, then I hope they blew me away.
To summarize what this episode was about, they practically showed us what it's like for different animation studios to work together and produce an anime. There's the negotiations, deals, meetings, dividing of the workload, etc.
Characters
Four new students were introduced, three from the Art Club and the sole member of the Sound club.
Let's talk about the former first, the president of the Art Club (Okamoto) didn't mean any harm when she criticized the storyboard made by Asakusa, but it was the cause that made our main character lost her confidence.
Midori twirling her hair, a sign of anxiety.
Good thing, her two dearest friends were there to reactivate her motivation switch. (And I'm glad Tsubame also encouraged Midori, in moments like this, it's Kanamori who usually gives them the reality check.)
And for Doumeki, she's another soul saved by Kanamori. Not only she has new storage for her sound library, but she was also allowed to monetize her resources and be a part of their staff for their ambitious project.
Writing / Storyboarding
It was nice to see a change in the setting. For the first time, we have seen the three of them at night together, outside of the school grounds (and this time, they were not panicking to go home).
I also noticed the writers like to include idioms from time to time, and it's a good thing as I don't know much about it (lol).
Put a sock in it: an impolite way of telling someone to stop talking
Lastly, my favorite part was when Midori was showcasing their one and only running sound effect. Even I felt some vexation while watching that scene.
Artwork / Animation
Just when I thought the background art of the Sound club was cool enough, it got even better when they showed the ceiling which includes numerous posters.
Music / Sound
I liked the various BGM and effects they used in the Sound Club scene. Plus, the soothing music while Midori was outside their club criticizing their own work.
