Synopsis
Vannie questioned herself why she's a draker, and if killing a dragon was a necessity.
Story
We finally got a decent direction from beginning to end. Everything from the mysterious artist in the crew, Vannie and Mika's small argument, up to their cooking segment... Nothing was loosed, all were connected in the right ways.
They also gave us a scenario of someone from the drakers, having a deep thought on what they were doing to the poor dragons. It's just nice to know this anime wasn't one-sided. And I hope, as the series progresses, we get to fully understand the true intention of this show.
Characters
Gaga had a moment on this one. I'm glad to see a not so popular character having enough screen time to be familiarised to the viewers.
Meanwhile, the spotlight was on Vannie. At first, I thought it was only Takita who have a soft spot for the dragons. Turned out, Vannie was more serious about it than her. She stated she has no place in the ground that's why she's in the skies with Quin Zaza. Thus, she had no choice but to do what she was tasked to do.
And props to her for having the guts on clashing with Mika.
Writing / Storyboarding
From cornering and wrestling Gaga, to Mika being as stubborn as ever and getting rescued by Vannie, the writing on this episode was simply top-notch.
The best part for me was when Vannie hesitated a bit when she looked on the eyes of the suffering dragon. The way that scene was written really captured what Vannie was feeling towards her duty as a draker.
Artwork / Animation
A lot of scenes here had spectacular art and great usage of lighting effect.
Plus, the design for the dragon was one of a kind.
Music / Sound
New music was present in the opening and ending scenes, both sounded fantastic.
