Synopsis
A dwarf oni teaches Golem how to make medicines in case of emergencies, while Somali uses her time on things she can help with.
Story
This episode has just revealed to us what could be the source of the series finale's climax. Golem's lifespan is nearing its end (one year and 112 days to be exact) and a death scene will definitely be a tearjerker for the viewers, but... I'm hoping I'm wrong. I don't want the ending to be that predictable.
Characters
Two onis joined the cast this episode, with Shizuno, the dwarf one, suggesting that Golem was hiding some secrets. And of course, we know he's not wrong.
At first, to be honest, I thought Shizuno was a bad guy. Not because of how he looked, but on how he seemed to be obsessed with Golem's body composition. But I was quickly proven wrong, and that's good, I wouldn't want another scenario similar to the cat from episode one.
Writing / Storyboarding
The best part of the script was probably when Golem removed his coat to show his body was slowly breaking down. The amount of shock and loneliness portrayed on that scene wasn't over the top.
Another one was when Golem telling Shizuno how he doesn't want to see Somali looking in pain. How the dwarf reacted and replied were just right for that scene.
Artwork / Animation
You know how some anime has a distinct form of art? This anime has one of those. One look at the background art and you can tell which anime it's from. And that's a plus for me.
The art for the characters Shizuno and Yabashira weren't bad either. I am especially fond of the design of their eyes, it's like a cat's whiskers.
Music / Sound
This episode started and ended with soothing background music, and I cannot ask for more than that.
