SynopsisA commoner turned aristocrat strikes down judgment on people who abuse their power.
Story
Most of the season will have episodes showing revenge against noblemen who have lost their minds and humanity. So, if you're a fan of shows where underdogs get their sweet vengeance, this one's for you.
Honestly, for me, the story got only compelling when Sherlock Holmes entered the picture. He became a target of interest by our main character. And the crimes he was given to be solved, as a test by William James Moriarty, were really difficult. Thus making him exciting to watch how he uncovered the tricky tasks.
Even though the show has some so-so episodes, the last three really did step up, ending the first season on a high note.
The revelation of Sherlock's brother -- Sir Mycroft Holmes, was the major tease for you to continue watching this series.
Characters
Here are the five important characters in this series:
William James Moriarty - Our main character, a Crime Consultant, and the Brain of the team. He conceptualizes everything that has got to do with the plan to perfectly achieve their goals.
Albert James Moriarty - The nobleman who gave William and Louis their titles to be on par with the other aristocrats. It's thanks to his connections, the brothers have more information about their targets.
Louis James Moriarty - At the start, you'll see him mostly serving food and drinks, but he's more than that. He actually assists in any way he can, making him a good right-hand to his brother William.
Sherlock Holmes - The detective who ignited William's interest. He's clearly good at deduction, making him a good asset for the Moriarty brothers.
John H. Watson - The most innocent-looking in the bunch, quite an opposite to Sherlock, which makes him a good partner for him.
Writing / Storyboarding
All episodes were written well, meaning for a crime thriller show like this, there were the right amount of shocks and surprises.
I particularly like the two-part story where the past of the three protagonists was shown. It was kind of eerie to see a young William, having all these wicked plans to turn the tables.
Artwork / Animation
Starting at episode 9, the anime has finally produced awesome shots, which the past episodes lacked. That's why I think there's less intensity on the climax scenes.
Costume and Building Designs were on par with the setting of the anime as well:
And here's a shot from the Titanic (j/k):
Music / SoundThe background music was good, but it's the ending song that ruined the atmosphere of the show for me.
