SynopsisA princess abducted by demons does everything she can, not to get out, but to have a pleasurable sleep.
Story
This started off like it will be an adventure fantasy anime, with battles between humans and demons, but thankfully it didn't go that path -- well, sort of. Instead of some cliche anime, we got a comedy that's 100% lit, and funny enough to burst yourselves into laughter, then fall asleep later (j/k).
No, but seriously, this anime makes me sleepy. Not because it's boring, but because in every episode, it featured things regarding having a peaceful slumber.
And for someone like me who sleeps four hours or less a day, this show really does trigger drowsiness. Even the Princess' voice makes me want to take nap. (I'm yawning while typing this!)
Still, this was a refreshing, fun comedy anime.
I mean, it's crazy how the Demon Castle has a Demon Church that's headed by a Demon Cleric to revive those who died. That's such a Holy Demon Castle, don't you think?
Characters
The characters here were kind of twisted... so that's a good thing, especially for a comedy anime (lol).
We got a captured princess (Aurora Sya Lis Goodereste) that always gets out of her cell. A hero (Dawner) that's dumb, and a demon king (Twilight) who helps that dumb hero.
The most 'normal' here was actually the supporting cast, but, they too had a hard time being themselves every time they're around Princess Syalis.
Going back to the first three I mentioned... I don't mind if this series gets a second season, and it will be centered on the love triangle between them.
Writing / Storyboarding
The writing here was centered on how the Princess will achieve a well-relaxed sleep. So, as a viewer, you might get bored knowing that each episode will just be about that. But, don't be discouraged, the writers did a splendid job and came up with really comical concepts.
And those who were responsible for the storyboards got everything right, to make all scenes unpredictably funny for most parts.
Also, in episode 9, something different happened. Instead of finding a way to sleep, the Princess agreed to behave more like a hostage rather than a guest.
And at episode 10 they took a drama route near the end, and it turned out fantastic. So that's two episodes that switched things up.
Lastly, this quote may not be motivational, but it's true:
In reality, when you know your body needs rest, you have to give what it deserves, or else... you'll suffer the consequences.
Artwork / Animation
The main setting here was the Demon Castle, and to be honest, its design was actually quite good, especially with the moon behind it.
For the most appealing character designs, it's the other antagonists which I liked the most -- Hypnos and Hades:
Music / SoundThe theme songs were both cutesy, so I just skip 'em all the time. For the background music and sound effects, nothing extraordinary, but it suited all the scenes.

An otaku since the mid-90's. I consider Evangelion as the most influential anime. My favorite classic films are Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away.
