Synopsis
It's the day of the Shibahama Festival, and Mizusaki has found out her parents will be on attendance.
Story
Okay... So, I was wrong when I thought the rest of the season will be just all about their mecha anime. I should have known already that this anime doesn't like to waste time. So yeah, I'm glad we'll have a new story after this.
And regarding this episode, I definitely would have given this a score higher than five, if only that's possible.
When Tsubame's parents were giving credit to her, I gotta be honest, I teared up a bit. And after their film has ended, I also gave them applause just like what their audience did.
Characters
Tsubame was indeed the star here, but so as the president of the Robot Club. Not only his promotional ideas were so stunning, but he also gave his best during the dubbing.
And nice to see both parents of Mizusaki being supportive of their daughter. I like the fact that no family drama has occurred.
Regarding the other two main characters, you can really tell Midori has the skills of being a great director, as she really likes to criticize, even at her own work, and Kanamori will be an amazing producer as she's really good in organizing and financing.
Writing / Storyboarding
I'll just mention the one which really stuck in my head, and that's the chase scene between the student council and the president of the Robot Club. The storyboard for that was way better than in episode one. In short, the writers have outdone themselves.
Artwork / Animation
The outcome for the mecha anime turned out great. And I think they made sure not to overdo it because it's supposed to be created by high schoolers.
Music / Sound
Their film had the right mix of BGM and sound effects (as that's what this episode taught us as well). Aside from their presentation, there's also the sounds of the water bottle rockets (which I thought was really cool), and the music they used when Tsubame and the rest of those in a robot cosplay were running away from the Student Council.
