We have two main characters here, Michiru Kagemori and Shirou Ogami.
I'll start with the latter first...
Shirou.. he's like Batman, a beastmen Batman, or should I just call him Wolfman? He's also somewhat like Wolverine, in a sense, he can heal his own body.
Michiru on the other hand, was like Ditto from Pokemon, she can transform into any beast and mimic their ability. She showed the extent of her skill when she was able to turn into Shirou and used his tracking skill.
Moving onto the antagonists... (I won't reveal the main enemy, as that will be too much of a spoiler.)
The villain here was somehow, understandable. Yes, it's hard to fully hate him, and I think that what makes him a unique antagonist.
Another was The family, a prominent circle in Anima City, similar to a mafia. What's interesting was, they gave a helping hand to Shirou when he needed support. It just showed how complex the characters were in this anime.
In the supporting category...
Marie's identity was the main laughing joke in this series. From the first episode to the last, some have guessed what kind of animal she was, unfortunately, not a single one has got it right.
