Synopsis
Caiman and Nikaido joined a yearly zombie killing fest in Hole. While doing so, they encountered the sorcerers who were ordered to kill them.
Story
The clash of Duos finally happened. I have to say... I was more thrilled in the match between Noi and Nikaido, theirs was more like mixed martial arts. While the battle between Caiman and Shin was about gory and brutality.
Although, we need a rematch. First, Nikaido didn't give it her all, 'cause who knew she was a sorceress. And second, it's just too short (yet, it was not underwhelming, what if it was longer, right?).
Characters
We've learned that Nikaido was more than just a cook who's good in a streetfight. The remaining question now was: What kind of sorcery does she use?
Noi on the other hand was like Tsunade (
Naruto), in a way that she's great in physical fights and an extraordinary healer who can perfectly regenerate a part of the body.
And for the most unfortunate character, that title goes to, no other than Ebisu!
(After recovering her face, she got herself being bitten by a zombie.
I know it's sad, but I can't help but laugh.)
Writing / Storyboarding
There's a balance of horror, suspense, action (amazing detailed fight sequence), and comedy in this episode. How did they pull it off? Don't know either, but I guess, they were simply that brilliant.
Artwork / Animation
Except for the battle scenes which had the best animation, I would like to give props to the 'moving camera' effect that was applied here to achieve a high level of suspense.
And for the best art, it goes to the flying motor (that can be transformed into a broom, lol). Such great mechanical design.
Music / Sound
Another opera song was played on this anime ('Twas during the time when Shin and Noi were having a meal). And we got a brand new ending song, which was good on its own, but I prefer the first one.
PS: In the door of Shin, you can read the Spanish words
El Corazion, in English, it means 'The Heart'
And in the graveyard, the staff was playing with their own show, as they included
Dorohedoro and
Q Hayashida in one of the tombstones.
